The Young Halloween Party was a huge success! We spent Monday-Thursday without power and in a panic that we were going to have to cancel or reschedule the party. BUT the power came back on on Thursday afternoon and it was a mad dash to decorate, cook, and clean before everybody showed up. Keep reading to see some photos of the details of the Young Halloween Party-Haunted Forest Edition! (Oh and the above photo is of a paper flower bouquet I made!)

Paper lanterns provided dim lighting in the hallway. And what party is complete without a selfie station?

We transformed our guest room into a creepy cabin and since Nathan was dressed up as a Forest Ranger, we went with it!

Left: "Moss" covered truffles were a big hit!

Below: Nathan brought home some old pallets and we put them up in the windows to give a rustic cabin feel

Vintage medical books from a local thrift store opened up to information on poison added to the killer forest ranger story

"Spider Infested" Bathroom

What's creepier than a bunch of spiderwebs and a ton of creepy crawly spiders? Easiest room to decorate, by far! We strung spider web stuff (ya know, the stuff that is $1.50 per bag at Michaels) and placed over 100 little spiders along every inch of the room. We then used an LED work light that Nathan had and put a purple gel over it to add to the paper lantern lighting.

Left: Another paper flower bouquet- this time black and white cala lillies!

Below: We are always operating on a budget and paper lanterns for lighting provided the perfect mood lighting at the perfect price!

Forest Food

So I didn't get nearly all the photos I wanted to of the food and drinks, but from the zombie marshmallow brownies to the moss covered cookies, we had plenty of leftovers!

Halloween parties are meant for us to dress up, we just need to be creative in order to have an amazing costume. The set-up for the halloween party is definitely how the people expects it to be. Despite the power being gone for days you were still able to handle it very well and made it a success. Your photos as well are wonderful, it matches the mood of every room which makes it more realistic. It is great that you were able to stick with the theme and make the party more enjoyable.
